Edie McClurg

Before Kansas City native Edie McClurg began her career as a prolific screen actor noted for her distinctly Midwestern voice, she appropriately got her start as a host and producer on KCUR.  Having studied science at Syracuse, McClurg returned to her hometown and began working at the NPR-affiliate, honing her chops as a voice with a presence.  She was bitten by the acting bug when performing the role of John Ehrlichman in the NPR broadcast of the Nixon tape transcripts.  McClurg moved to LA, became a member of the fledgling comedy troupe the Groundlings, and soon after got her film break.  Appearing as the memorable secretary in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, McClurg has since made a living capturing that particular Midwestern charm.
