Betty Ann Lynn captured America’s heart as small-town, nice-as-can-be Thelma Lou, who was the girlfriend of the quirky town’s sheriff Barney (played by Don Knott), in The Andy Griffith Show. Lynn is a born-and-raised Kansas Citian and started her career at a local radio station. Before and after landing her most famous role as Thelma Lou, Lynn stayed true to her light-hearted, kind personality with roles in a wide variety of shows and movies ranging from “Little House on the Prairie” to “Cheaper by the Dozen.”
